Buyer – West Yorkshire – Salary – £30-35k

We are currently looking for a Buyer to work with a well-established market-leading manufacturing business in the West Yorkshire area. The Buyer position offers fantastic company benefits, pension and training from a company that values its employees.

The successful Buyer will have the opportunity to work for a leading manufacturing company. A global business who specialises in a highly niche market involving a complex assembled product which is used by a wide range of sectors and marquee companies. The Buyer will report into a Finance Director and have a high level of autonomy within the UK unit for developing supplier relationships and improving the businesses supply chain.

The Role & Responsibilities of the Buyer:

Ensure supplier relationships are kept current to allow full business, legal and compliance standards are met

Sourcing new suppliers and negotiation of terms of payment and timescales

Working closely with the global commercial manager to increase the companies buying power

Review and confirm all purchasing requisitions

Ensure product availability to maximise price, quality and quantity for business requirements

Liaise closely with the production and sales teams to ensure projects can be delivered on time and budget

About the Buyer:

You will have prior experience in a purchasing role preferably in a manufacturing environment – ideally with an assembled project

Ideally be CIPS qualified

Have an understanding MRP systems and be highly IT literate

First class negotiation and research skills to find the right suppliers at the right price

Have experience of sourcing mechanical and electrical components, fabricated structures, raw materials and pre-assembled fixtures

Have a strong customer focused approach

Demonstrable track record of cost savings with previous employers
