Metalis are working with a well established manufacturing company who provide support services for their customers worldwide, these services include geometric calibration, refurbishment and servicing of their machines. They're looking for a Machine Tool Electrical Service Engineer / PLC support Engineer who will play a key part in their customer facing team.
The Role:
Working work with customers and engineers both office based on the phone
Travel to various sites throughout the UK to diagnose and correct electrical and PLC software issues encountered with existing machines
Providing new electrical panels and updated CNC systems for our existing machines.
Laser Calibration using laser equipment to measure machine inaccuracies and, if fitted, by using the control systems positional correction data reduce the errors to within specifications. (Training will be provided if required)
Backing up control system software using various PC software packages
The Candidate:
You should be prepared to stop away from home for a number of nights as the job requires (occasional weekend working may be required)
Engineering apprenticeship / NVQ
Valid UK driving license
Experience in dealing with both Manual and CNC Machinery
Knowledgable of both Electrical and Machine PLC Software problems on Machine tools
PLC Controls knowledge (Siemens, Heidenhain, Fanuc)
Ability to read and understand Hydraulic schematic drawings and electrical schematics.
The Package:
Upto £40,000 per annum basic, plus overtime paid at premium rates
Monday-Friday (early finish on Fridays)
