Job Description Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Reports to: UK Business Development Manager Responsible for: No Employees Job Purpose: Mechanical Design Engineering core products and new product development considering customer requirements, cost, market trends, business disciplines, manufacturing capabilities, safety & quality objectives. Through correct Interpretation of clients User Requirement Specifications, produce drawing packs to include but not limited to, 2D/3D sales proposal drawings, 2D/3D General Arrangement drawings, 2D/3D detail design drawings, also generate bills of materials, mechanical design calculations and risk assessment associated with UKCA ertification. Duties and Key Responsibilities: 1. Specific * Deliver all assigned tasks in accordance with project milestones and timelines * Execute all assigned tasks in line with the business Quality Management System * Demonstrate knowledge of assigned project Users Requirement Specification * Demonstrate knowledge and control of assigned project budgets * Promote standardisation within designs, maximising efficiency whilst minimising risk. * Provide mechanical design engineering input at all project milestone meetings * Ensure mechanical designs meet company and industry standards for safety and performance * Provide technical support to the sales process * Provide drawing support to the sales process * Provide mechanical design engineering support throughout the manufacturing process * Ensure that any identified project risks are documented and shared with management * Ensure drawing checks are performed in line with procedure prior to every milestone release * Where required liaise directly with PSS, PEC, SIC, IFF & IBE teams for all project requirements * Seek to identify opportunities for cost savings through best practices 2.
