Job Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity for two people to start a career working on motors.

You will work within the engineering department, learning how to modify the mechanical and electrical components of motors to clients requirements.

You will learn all aspects of an engineering operative, including:
– Drilling, using lathe and milling machine and testing for electrical faults
– Gathering parts, tools and materials required for the assembly / modification
– Maintaining inventory by checking stock components to determine inventory level, and anticipating needed parts
– Verifying incoming stock and recording stock adjustments
– Painting motors and gearboxes when needed
Person Specification:

Apprenticeships are open for people of any age interested in learning a trade through hands-on working.

Our client is looking for someone with the following attributes:
– Interested in both mechanical and electrical works in the motor industry
– Has a good eye for detail
– Must be able to work both independently and within a team environment with excellent communication skills
Training and support:

Whilst at work you will also complete ‘off-the-job’ learning with Calderdale College, gaining certification to prove you are a competent engineer by the end of your apprenticeship.

Our client is also keen to keep staff after their apprenticeship and provide further training to help ambitious staff move up in the business.
