A secondary school in Huddersfield require a pastoral support worker to join them ASAP. It’s for an ongoing, full time requirement – the duration is unspecified.
The role will involve supporting students who may face certain challenges when they are in school – whether these be social, emotional or mental health issues. Your job would be to help them to access the learning irrespective of their needs. You will work closely with other colleagues as you work with them to provide bespoke support for the students. You will keep a close eye on their progress during lessons, looking out for any milestones they make in their learning. Your high quality support for the student will be student centred, and you will also show a firm commitment to safeguarding.
This will require someone with strong behaviour management and communication skills. You should have a calm and unflappable nature, and be patient, sensitive and compassionate. Similar experience in a similar setting would be preferred.
