Are you an aspiring Teaching Assistant?

Teaching Personnel are seeking to place support staff in SEN schools across the Huddersfield area. The role includes duties such as 1:1 behaviour support and general classroom assistant work.

We are searching for candidates who have previous Teaching Assistant experience but also including candidates with backgrounds in Care, Support Work, Coaching, and Social Work.

What will you need to succeed?

You must be confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic with an interest in education. Perhaps you’re an aspiring teacher, recent graduate or experienced Teaching Assistant looking for the perfect role to immerse yourself in.

Level 2 or 3 qualification is ideal but not essential

Residency in the UK for the last six months and overseas clearance

Child enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply

Understanding of SEND and complex behaviours is needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervising in the class and supporting pupils 1-1.

Assist the teacher with admin and teaching duties.

Work in focus groups outside the classroom.

Support with lunch and/or break duty.

Required Skills & Experience:

Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident

Have spent six months or more in the country

Have an overseas criminal clearance or be willing to apply for one if applicable

Have a child enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one

Previous experience working with SEND children
