We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy (Shared Service Centre) to join us in Bradford, UK.

Liberty Global Shared Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Liberty Global Group, exists to provide technology and operational based solutions for transactional activity across LG, their Federation partners and in the future, third parties. With a team of almost 600, we currently provide services to 9 customers including Virgin Media O2, Egg, VMTV (Ireland), Sunrise (Switzerland) and Atlas Edge (across Europe), supporting them with activity in Accounting, Legal and HR.

Supporting the Operational activity is our Technology team, split into three pillars focusing on Technology Solutions, Systems Modernisation and Systems Run & Maintain. We have experts in Oracle ERP, Workday, RPA, EPM, Project delivery & Change Management, and always now looking to enhance the technology offering further, introducing new roles that focus on existing and emerging technologies including PAAS, ML and AI, and uses data science to predict future operational impacts and make recommendations.

All of this is currently underpinned by our Commercial Strategy team who are responsible for all expansion activity, commerciality and contracts, and the Chief of Staff who supports the Senior Leaderships team to develop People strategies including Talent & Development, Attraction & Retention, Engagement & Culture and DE&I

What will you be doing?

The Senior Manager, SSC Commercial Strategy will play a pivotal role in the design and development of the Liberty Global Shared Services strategy and growth story. The role will support the Director, Commercial and SSC divisional leads to articulate and grow our service offering to new customers.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and have demonstrable experience working within a fast paced, demanding environment. Responsible for selling products that support activities in Finance, HR and Legal, prior exposure to these areas would be helpful although not crucial. We are looking for someone who has an interest and understanding of relevant technologies, both existing and emerging, with an ability to articulate their benefit to both technical and non-technical audiences.

We tend to look for people with:

Conduct market research, including regular review of key market trends, competitor analysis and service capabilities to identify commercial opportunities.

Support in the creation and implementation of the Shared Services Go-to-Market (GTM) approach, including:

design of service/product offerings;

creation and review of the customer value proposition;

customer segmentation analysis/targeting, and;

identification and utilisation of optimal marketing channels

Maintain and run the service/product portfolio, including scoping and baseline commercial terms

Design, co-ordinate and deliver the E2E sales process for new business activity, from lead generation through to closing of deal, including:

researching, identifying and supporting the pursuit of new leads in line with GTM strategy,

managing lead activity utilising a robust sales pipeline methodology,

supporting the creation of promotional/pitch materials,

co-ordinating stakeholder involvement within the E2E process e.g. introductory meetings, pitches,

co-ordinating specific proposition design and commercial terms (including scoping, obtaining approvals and sign offs)

Engage with the Legal team on the production of contractual documentation of commercial propositions for new business in the form of a Master Services Agreement (MSA)

Liaise with Finance team to review product/service profitability and provide input into revenue forecasting activity

Work with the Account Management team post commercial agreement on delivery readiness to ensure proposition is implemented as commercially and contractually agreed

Support with the identification and assessment of new strategic partnerships and/or acquisition targets

Build a strong network of internal and external relationships to support Business Development activity

Preferred education/ qualifications:

Shared Services experience preferred

Strategy/Business Development/Sales/Marketing experience preferred, but not crucial

Experience operating in an international / multi-country / matrix environment

Proven experience of working in a team with a strong focus on customer service
