Due to the promotion of the incumbent Team Manager, the need has arisen for an experienced insurance professional to join the business in a rare, hybrid (Account Executive / Team Leader) position. Here, your duties will include inheriting a longstanding portfolio of SME clients generating commission income in excess of £200K per annum. Clients are from a range of industry sectors (such as Retail, Property Owners and Manufactures), and typically have premium spends of up to £10K. Given their size, the majority of your client management responsibilities (renewals, mid-term amendments and general enquiries) can be carried out from your desk-top, although you will be seeing clients in person as you see fit (likely to be at least weekly). The focus here is very much on the management of existing business, and you won’t be burdened with a new business target. You will also oversee the Small Business Unit’s Account Handling Team. This comprises 6 friendly, supportive and experienced and 'low-maintenance’ Account Handlers, who require very little hand-holding, so your role will just be to ensure the continued smooth running of the team, such as allocating workloads, conducing 1-2-1’s and helping with training & development.

Being such a varied role, we welcome applications from Senior Account Handlers and Team Leaders wishing to assume some Account Executive style responsibilities, as well as Account Exec’s who wish to develop some managerial skills. Needless to say, we are also eager to hear from candidates who have experience of working in a similar account handling / managerial position.

It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of a range of commercial covers, such as Property, Liability, Commercial Combined. You must also share this broker’s client-centric approach and be confident in your ability to build a sound professional rapport with clients from a range of industry sectors, both blue and white collar. You must be well-organised with excellent task management skills, and have a keen eye for detail.
